Condition & Value Assessment
Condition Grade
Lightly Played (LP)
Estimated Market Value
Raw: $3,000 - $5,000. Graded (PSA 7/8): $7,000 - $12,000.
Recent Sales
Recent sales of 1st Edition Charizard cards in Lightly Played condition range between $3,500 and $4,500 raw, depending on exact surface preservation and centering.
Condition Details
Slight border whitening on the back and minor corner wear visible under close inspection. The front surface has a few fine light scratches on the holographic foil window, and centering is slightly heavy on the left border.
Grading Recommendation
Highly recommended to grade with PSA or BGS due to the extremely high value of 1st Edition Base Set Charizard. Estimated grade is 7 or 8, which still provides a substantial value multiplier over raw condition.
Card Description
Pokemon Power: Energy Burn - As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may turn all Energy attached to Charizard into Fire Energy for the rest of the turn. This power can't be used if Charizard is affected by a Special Condition. Fire Spin: 100 damage. Discard 2 Energy cards attached to Charizard or this attack does nothing. Spits fire that is hot enough to melt boulders. Known to unintentionally cause forest fires. LV. 76 #6
Notable Features
Features the iconic 1st Edition stamp on the middle-left side of the character window and the Shadowless border design characteristic of early English print runs.
Authentication Notes
Appears authentic with correct font weights, proper 1st Edition stamp placement, accurate holo sheen reflective properties, and correct copyright dates. Verification with a loupe for rosette dot patterns and core layer light test is recommended in-person.
